Our Commitment to Your Privacy
At Atmoplayer, we take your privacy seriously. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your data when you use our service. The short version: we don't collect, store, or track your personal data. We believe data should only be collected when absolutely necessary, and for Atmoplayer, it simply isn't necessary.
🔒 TL;DR - Privacy in Plain English
- ✅ No database - We don't store your data on our servers
- ✅ No tracking - We don't use analytics or tracking cookies
- ✅ No ads - No advertising networks or data sharing
- ✅ Local only - Your settings stay on your device
- ✅ Full control - Export, import or delete your data (coming soon)
- ✅ Open source - Our code is transparent and auditable
1. No Database, No Problem
Atmoplayer doesn't use a database to store user data. Everything you see is either:
- Loaded from public podcast APIs (using open RSS/Podcast Index standards)
- Stored locally in your browser's Local Storage (on your device only)
- Temporarily cached by your browser for performance
This means we never store your listening history, preferences, or any personal information on our servers.
2. Local Storage (Your Device)
To provide you with a personalized experience, Atmoplayer uses your browser's Local Storage to save:
- Language preferences: Your selected interface language
- Volume settings: Your preferred atmosphere and podcast volume levels
- Playback state: Current episode position and selected atmosphere
- Favorites: Shows and episodes you've bookmarked
- Settings: Your customization preferences (per-show atmospheres, etc.)
Important: All this data stays on your device. It never leaves your browser and is never sent to our servers. You can clear this data at any time through your browser settings or by using the "Clear All Data" option in Settings.
3. No Tracking or Analytics
We do not use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or any other tracking services. We don't track your behavior, browsing patterns, or collect any metrics about how you use the app. We don't use cookies for tracking purposes.
4. Third-Party Services
To provide our service, we rely on the following third-party services:
Cloudflare
Our website is served through Cloudflare's Content Delivery Network (CDN) for performance and security. Cloudflare may temporarily log IP addresses and other technical information to protect against malicious traffic. Cloudflare Privacy Policy
Laravel Cloud
Our application is hosted on Laravel Cloud infrastructure. Server logs may contain IP addresses and request data for operational purposes, but we do not actively collect or analyze this information.
Bunny Fonts
We use Bunny Fonts for web typography, a privacy-friendly alternative to Google Fonts. Unlike Google Fonts, Bunny Fonts does not track users or log IP addresses. Bunny Fonts Privacy Information
Podcast Index API
Podcast content is loaded from public podcast RSS feeds via the Podcast Index API. When you search for or play podcasts, your device makes requests to these services. We do not control how these third parties handle requests, but no personal information is sent with these requests.
5. GDPR Compliance (European Users)
If you're in the European Union, you have specific rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR):
- Right to Access: Since we don't store your data, there's nothing for us to provide
- Right to Erasure: You can clear all local data through your browser settings at any time
- Right to Data Portability: Your data stays on your device and is yours to manage
- Right to Object: Not applicable as we don't process your personal data
We don't require consent for data collection because we don't collect data. The data stored locally in your browser is strictly necessary for the service to function and is entirely under your control.
6. Children's Privacy
Atmoplayer does not knowingly collect any information from children under the age of 13 (or 16 in the EU). Since we don't collect personal data from anyone, this applies to all users regardless of age. Parents can safely allow children to use Atmoplayer knowing that no data is being collected.
7. Your Rights and Control
You have complete control over your data:
- Delete Everything: Use the "Clear All Data" button in Settings to erase all local storage
- Export Your Data: Export your favorites and settings to a JSON file from the Settings page
- Import Your Data: Import previously exported data on a different device or browser
- Browser Controls: Use your browser's privacy settings to manage or clear local storage at any time
8. Data Retention
Since all data is stored locally on your device, it remains there until you clear it. We don't have access to this data and therefore have no retention policies. Your browser's local storage persists until you clear it manually or through your browser settings.
9. Security
While we don't store your data, we still take security seriously:
- All connections to Atmoplayer are encrypted using HTTPS/TLS
- We use Cloudflare's security features to protect against malicious attacks
- Local storage data is protected by your browser's same-origin policy
- We regularly update our dependencies to patch security vulnerabilities
10. International Users
Atmoplayer can be accessed from anywhere in the world. Since we don't collect personal data, there are no data transfer concerns. However, please note that third-party services (Cloudflare, Laravel Cloud) may process technical data according to their own privacy policies.
11. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for legal reasons. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will always show when the policy was last modified. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
